History
The History tab is the audit trail of an order.
What is recorded
History entries include:
- Status changes
- Admin actions captured as comments
- Customer notification flag (
Yes/No) - Execution timestamp
- Optional detail payloads for deeper context
The initial order creation event is also listed in history.
Available views
History can be viewed in multiple modes:
- Table view: compact list for quick scanning.
- Timeline view: chronological story of what happened.
- Status view: filter by status and search within history text/details.
Typical use cases
Use History when you need to answer:
- Who changed the order status and when?
- Was the customer notified for that change?
- Which manual edits were done to items, addresses, or discounts?
- Why is the order currently in this status?
Working with notes
Two important notes affect daily operations:
- Customer note: customer-facing context from checkout.
- Admin note: internal context for operators.
Both notes can be edited from the order screen and help teams avoid repeated investigation.
Operational recommendation
Before changing an order to a final status (for example fulfilled or completed), review the latest history entries first.
This helps prevent duplicate actions, duplicate emails, or conflicting manual edits.
